Position: QA Engineer

Location: North West UK or Western Ukraine (Lviv)

Term: Permanent, Full time.

Salary: Competitive remuneration will be offered along with a bonus scheme.

Outline:

We are looking for a passionate, diligent and organised individual who will join our team as a QA engineer for our growing Business Intelligence and bespoke software solutions. We need to stress that the individual will need to tackle diverse and interesting challenges.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintain data testing process.
  • Create test documentation and keep it up-to-date.
  • Manual testing of data transformations.
  • Estimation of testing efforts.
  • Create test cases based on requirements, execute tests and report progress.
  • Analyse and review requirements and project documentation.
  • Liaise with development teams, local & remote team members regarding requirement clarifications and quality expectations.
  • Optimization through automation – provide innovative solutions to improve processes.

Training and mentoring will be provided to develop the individual’s business domain knowledge as required.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Must have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance. 
  • Experience creating test strategy/test plans.
  • Experience maintaining test documentation (checklists, test cases, etc.).
  • Knowledge of various software testing techniques and methods, as well as experience applying them.
  • Experience in SQL.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Spoken and written English (B1+).
  • Eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom or Ukraine.

 

Optional:

  • Experience with BI platforms (Tableau, Power Bi).
  • Experience with JIRA / Azure DevOps.

 

Expectations of Candidates:

We are looking for a passionate, diligent and organised individual who will join our team as a Support Engineer for our growing B2B data, business intelligence and bespoke software solutions. We need to stress that the individual will need to tackle diverse and interesting challenges. There is significant opportunity to grow within this role with regards to responsibilities and ultimately your salary compensation.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Be the first point of contact for client technical support requests.
  • Fully understand, qualify and capture client requirements, triage requests, provide client feedback and resolve issues where possible.
  • Liaise with other MTS subject matter experts  for more complex requests.
  • Engage and manage customer relationships, understanding the needs of the customer, providing effective solutions, ensuring successful delivery of projects, programs and consistently drive excellent customer experience and service.
  • Liaise with development teams, local & remote team members regarding requirement clarifications and quality expectations.
  • As your business and product knowledge grows you will be expected to participate in sessions with the development teams to help improve the solutions.

Training and mentoring will be provided to develop the individual’s business domain knowledge as required.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Must have:

  • Minimum 2 years of support experience.
  • Analytically minded and capable of performing logical root cause analysis.
  • Strong fundamental IT skills – including familiarity with VPN, remote server access etc.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Able to triage and manage multiple support requests.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Good spoken and written English (B2+).
  • Ability to live and work in the  North West UK or Western Ukraine.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Basic knowledge of IIS.

We are looking for a passionate, diligent and organised individual to take over the day to day project management of our rapidly growing technology orientated company. Ultimately you will be responsible for the execution of a project through its life cycle along with helping to mature our processes.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Predict resources and manage resources.
  • PM tasks for both our technical and consultancy teams.
  • Prepare budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications: 

We are looking for an individual who has a degree in a project management, engineering or business related degree. A high level of experience AGILE methodologies using JIRA is desirable.

Outline:

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our growing team. This will be a diverse and interesting technical position in a rapidly evolving sector. The role will have a significant focus on the use of mining technology and data, and can be broken down into three broad remits:

  • Mine Site Studies: Assist with on-site analysis to identify and quantify an operation’s unique challenges, and to provide recommendations on how they can be overcome.
  • Implementation of Mining Technology: Assist mines in measuring, managing, and addressing these challenges (ranging from software and solution deployments through to change management and mentoring sessions). 
  • Effective Data Visualisations: Develop and deploy appropriate and robust data visualizations to enable a site to manage specific challenges on an ongoing basis.

Training and mentoring will be provided to develop the individual’s technical expertise as required.

 

Qualifications: 

We are looking for a graduate or recent graduate with a mining-related or computer science-related degree containing some aspects of the following areas:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Mining Operational Research/Analytics
  • Computer Science/Information Technology/Programming
  • Science, Technology, or Engineering

Although we are based in the North West of the UK, post-pandemic, the role will provide the opportunity to travel significantly to remote and diverse corners of the globe. Recent projects within the last six months include:

  • South America: Mining optimization (including load and haul, drill and blast, ore control, fuel optimization, asset maintenance).
  • Africa: Mining technology implementations for a large equipment manufacturer.
  • North America: Large enterprise rollouts of mining continuous improvement projects.
  • Central Asia: Field follow and testing of new software solutions for a large mining consultancy.

  • Knowledge of various software testing techniques and methods, as well as experience applying them
  • Strong SQL knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to design formal test cases for functional testing, based on requirements
