Position: Mining Analytics Engineer

Location: North West UK with frequent international travel.

Term: Permanent, Full time.

Salary: Competitive remuneration will be offered along with a bonus scheme.

Experience Level: Graduate to 2 years.

 

Outline:

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our growing team. This will be a diverse and interesting technical position in a rapidly evolving sector. The role will have a significant focus on the use of mining technology and data, and can be broken down into three broad remits:

  • Mine Site Studies: Assist with on-site analysis to identify and quantify an operation’s unique challenges, and to provide recommendations on how they can be overcome.
  • Implementation of Mining Technology: Assist mines in measuring, managing, and addressing these challenges (ranging from software and solution deployments through to change management and mentoring sessions). 
  • Effective Data Visualisations: Develop and deploy appropriate and robust data visualizations to enable a site to manage specific challenges on an ongoing basis.

Training and mentoring will be provided to develop the individual’s technical expertise as required.

 

Qualifications: 

We are looking for a graduate or recent graduate with a mining-related or computer science-related degree containing some aspects of the following areas:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Mining Operational Research/Analytics
  • Computer Science/Information Technology/Programming
  • Science, Technology, or Engineering

 

We are interested in speaking to people with the following qualities:

  • You are very technology-focused with a strong interest in using systems and data to improve operational problems.
  • You are interested in finding innovative but practical solutions to resolve complex challenges.
  • You are interested in working in a dynamic environment combining technology, data, software and large mining equipment.

  • You are a good communicator – both written and orally.
  • You are a good listener (there is a consultancy element to the role).
  • You are able to travel globally up to 50% of the time.

 

Locations: 

Although we are based in the North West of the UK, post-pandemic, the role will provide the opportunity to travel significantly to remote and diverse corners of the globe. Recent projects within the last six months include:

  • South America: Mining optimization (including load and haul, drill and blast, ore control, fuel optimization, asset maintenance).
  • Africa: Mining technology implementations for a large equipment manufacturer.
  • North America: Large enterprise rollouts of mining continuous improvement projects.
  • Central Asia: Field follow and testing of new software solutions for a large mining consultancy.

Position: Project Manager

Location: North West, UK

Term: Full time, 12-month contract with the possibility of extension

Salary: Competitive salary

Languages: Good English and (ideally) Ukrainian is required.

Outline:

We are looking for a passionate, diligent, and organized individual to take over the day-to-day project management of our rapidly growing technology-orientated company. Ultimately you will be responsible for the execution of a project through its life cycle. This role will require you to spend extensive time in the United Kingdom (visas will be arranged).

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Predict resources and manage resources.
  • PM tasks for both our technical and consultancy teams.
  • Prepare budgets based on the scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify team project performance bottlenecks and help to resolve them through process improvements and standardizations.

Training and mentoring will be provided to develop the individual’s technical expertise as required.

 

Qualifications: 

We are looking for an individual who has a degree in project management, engineering or business-related degree.

  • You have a good standard of spoken and written English.
  • You are exceptionally well organized.
  • You are able to take full ownership of tasks and are confident in ensuring there is team compliance to the plan.
  • You are highly effective at organizing individuals to execute their part in the projects (for example ensuring that a consultant is lined up to deliver a certain task by a certain date).
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • You are interested in working in a small, dynamic but rapidly growing startup.
  • You are flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • You are a good communicator – both written and orally.
  • Finally, evidence of past accomplishments of successfully managed projects must be demonstrated.
